State of A-Chairs

Pinterest is full of lies.

"Upholstering is something anyone can tackle!"
"This Lazy-Boy took me 3 days to recover."
"All you have to do is fold the fabric over and staple."

The nursery has turned into a war zone as we recover a blue Lazy Boy from the 80s. I can tell you that this will be our last upholstering project that we ever do.

Strike that from the bucket list.

Charlie's (and the guest) Bathroom

Is that not the cutest thing ever?!!? It even has matching slippers!

I found the "Splish Splash" vinyl at Hobby Lobby and knew it would be perfect!

25 weeks

15 more to go... ish!

The dogs were photobombing the entire time this morning. Toby is licking the glass door, Ozzy is watching him, and Mayfield looks like an evil dog with her glowing eyeballs in the background.

The Nursery... so far

There's a lot more to go, but it's getting there!

Baby Piano Man

Charlie's nursery has a music theme, so when we went to the Charleston Repeats sale today and they had a little piano for $7 our imagination ran wild of how we could paint it and put it in an empty corner of the nursery. It didn't last long before it was already getting some play time in our house. Clay was supposedly checking to make sure that it was "in tune."

Clay plays Bohemian Rhapsody

Toby plays Bohemian Rhapsody

Ozzy plays Chopsticks

Our house is never boring.

Everything (even babies) look better in orange and purple

A Georgia fan from the church I work at and the one we attend went to the Clemson/UGA game in Clemson and brought back this cute Clemson outfit for Charlie.
We have really been blessed by my job and a church full of wonderful people. They have truly opened up their hearts to our baby boy already and he isn't even here.

I get emails at work from people starting with "Hey Katy (and Charlie!)" or people will stop to tell me that Charlie and I are in their daily prayers. It truly is amazing and such a blessing for our little family.

Nursery is painted!

Today we labored on Labor Day and painted Charlie's nursery. We love how it turned out and can't wait to get the rest of it set up and ready. :-)
Dad is a little weird sometimes.

Clemson Football

I am so excited for football season!

Tonight is our first game against Georgia... and we are winning!

My mom is a little concerned that if this game were any later in the season that I may go into labor. Apparently, I get a little excited over Clemson football. :-)

We love surprises!

Surprises for Charlie in the mail are fun!

Now we can actually bring him home from the hospital since we have a car seat. YAY!

Aquarium Visit

Last year we became members of the Charleston Aquarium. It was literally one of the best investments we ever made. We often go after Church on Sunday afternoons and stop by the girl's cart to get some mango Italian Ice on the way out (SO GOOD!!!).

We went by the boat on the way home from church and while walking down the dock (the aquarium is directly across the harbor from the boat) I suggested that we go to the aquarium since we hadn't been in awhile.

I always like stopping by the Ocean tank and hanging out for a little bit. We spent about 5 minutes looking for Coretta the sea turtle but couldn't find her. I sat down and started talking to Clay (and Charlie) about how much fun it will be to bring Charlie to the aquarium next year. Coretta then plopped herself down for a nap right next to me. It was pretty awesome to watch. :-)

Pressure Washing

Today I did what any normal six months pregnant woman would do out of boredom...

I pressure washed the house and front porch.

I've taken nesting to the extreme.

Curtains!

We worked on the nursery some tonight. Clay practiced his balance as he put the anchors in for the curtain rods.

I think you can probably tell that this kid will not go naked...

Baby goes to Poe's

Clay and I ventured out to Poe's for lunch today. It hit the spot and I think Poe's will also be one of Charlie's favorites in the future. :-)

Ozzy & Charlie met

Ozzy had his first run in with Charlie while he was laying on my stomach tonight. He's not so sure about my stomach moving.

Alien baby

I was starting to get used to all the kicks and jabs, but now I can see it from the outside.

It's a little weird and awesome all at once.

Charlie is feisty today...

I poked him and he poked back.

Pregnant Dreams

I feel like my dreams get a little bit weirder between the middle of the night bathroom breaks. The dreams don't continue each time but new ones start... so it's like 5 different, weird dreams all in one night.

It must be all the pregnancy hormones because I rarely had vivid/weird dreams before.

One of them from last night included Clay, dad, and our friend Mike going for a car ride while plastered. My mom went after them to get them to come home/make sure they didn't get in trouble. Then I got a call from the police dept to come get someone. Thinking it was the three drunk guys I took my time getting there, but turned out it was my mom. She had robbed a bank instead of following the guys. And that's about where it ended.

I told you they were weird.

Carolina Crown FTW

As you will know, Dad marched Carolina Crown so we watched the DCI World Championship Finals at home. You weren't too interested in the other corps, but when Crown came on you started wiggling (like you always do... you really like Crown) and THEY WON!

Anatomy Scan

We had our anatomy scan scheduled for today, but because we already knew you were a boy we just wanted to double check to make sure you were still a he. The doctor also checked all your organs and bones to make sure you were ok. She said that you were "perfect" and that the appointment couldn't have been any better.

So here you are, "perfect" baby. :-)

20 weeks

Today we are 20 weeks... aka halfway to your due date.

This time has gone by so quickly. I can feel you moving around all the time now. I am pretty sure that you are attempting to earn your black belt in karate while in utero.

Nursery Art 1

When we decided to do a music theme in your nursery I knew that I wanted to tie in Carolina Crown. I found a seller on ETSY that paints canvases to look like uniforms. I sent her a few pictures of your Dad's uniform and your painting came today! I can't wait to see it on the wall.

Welcome to my crib!

I said "Hey baby daddy. The crib arrived in the mail. Can you please tote a piece upstairs every time you go up so it can get out of the living room."

Dad says "ok"

2 hours later I get a facebook message from him:

I think he might have been a little excited.

Toby gave you a hug and then fell asleep.

Closet

I worked on organizing your little closet today... ok... big closet. You already have a lot of stuff.

Boy Clothes

I'm 99.9% sure that you will not go naked after the outlet mall shopping trip we went on today. All the tiny clothes look so cute hanging up in your closet.

And you got your first pair of Sperry's.

Babymoon

You are a busy little baby! At 16-17 weeks you went to the Bahamas, St Thomas and St Maarten. You really liked the music on the ship and the islands because you wiggled all over the place everywhere we went.
